Week of September 4 |
We're practicing making a circle shape on each others' backs. |
Ricky is practicing writing on his dry erase board.
We are learning to line up quietly in our classroom.
Sometimes we play active learning games; this one is called Four Corners. |
Kevin and Josie are locating the word "red" on the color song book and marking it with a "wikki stick".
Camryn and Kevin enjoy playtime. |
Miss Napoli helps us read the Morning Message everyday. |
Dougie was our first "Special Person of the Day". We learned the letters in his name and spelled it. Then Dougle told us a story about himself.
This week we read the book, Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom. It is the story of the alphabet letters climbing up a coconut tree.
We made a Chicka Book snack by spreading peanut butter on a celery stalk and adding Alphabits cereal. |
Yummy!
We also did a Chicka Boom art project. Dougie cut the corners off a square to form a perfect circle.
Trystan, Ricky and Isabel are adding stick-on letters from their name to their coconut trees. |
Chicka, Chicka... |
Boom, Boom! |
Camryn likes to practice reading the book, "Who Stole the Cookies from the Cookie Jar?"
Miss Napoli and Courtney are clapping the syllables in her name---2 claps for Court - ney.
It's RED day. We all wore red clothes and brought something red for Show and Tell.
Daryl and Jazlyn are attaching letter stickers to a bottle.
Then Victoria and Jaelyn put foam letters inside the bottle.
The teachers added water and glued the bottle shut.
We reread the book, Chicka Chicka, Boom Boom... |
and Moira and the rest of the children tapped their bottles every time we read the words, "Boom, Boom"!
We made an AB pattern...boy, girl, boy, girl, boy, girl...
The boys love to play in the kitchen during free choice time! |
