There is a new Snack Calendar beginning this week; please check for your child's name and date. Snacks this week will be provided by Isabella, Kevin and Trystan. We have eaten most of the snacks you sent in the first week of school. When it's your turn, please send in a bag or box of snacks (cookies, crackers, fruit snacks, pretzels, etc.) that will feed 15 children.  I will keep the leftovers to give your children a choice of 2 or 3 snacks each day.

Help! We want to win the PTA Membership contest so we can have an ice cream party. Please join our PTA! There's a membership paper included today.

Orange Day and Show and Tell day will be on Thursday as usual. The Show and Tell is a little different this week. Please have your child bring something Teeny Tiny (something very small) in a bag to share. Homework (a worksheet) will be due on Friday--please be sure your child completes the homework very neatly.

A word and letter list on leaves is included for home practice. You might also check to see if your child knows the letter sounds and can name some words beginning with these letters. Last Friday we returned the first reading test (do they know the difference between a word and a letter?) and second math test that assessed patterning and left/right directionality. Check to see how your child did on these.

We are beginning the Pizza Hut Book-It program this week. Your child can earn a free personal pan pizza by reading just 120 minutes a month! That's only 4 minutes a day of extra practice with the sentences and books your son or daughter brings home. You can also read books you already have at home or books from the library.  Please read the attached note and let's start earning those pizzas! The program will continue through March.

HELP! Many of us have lost the 8 basic crayon colors. Our dry erase markers are running out. Please ask your children if they need supplies replaced.

We need metal coffee cans, small or large size, for some Thanksgiving and Christmas crafts. Please send them in when you can!

Special

Thanks

Thanks for helping us practice our words on the Word Rings and by reading the sentences.
