On Friday the children should have brought home a
Sentence Practice paper. Please keep
these on the fridge so it's handy for working on those vocabulary words.
A new one will come home most Fridays. Encourage your son or daughter to
"show off" their new reading skills to grandparents and friends.
Miss Napoli and I
have placed a Word Ring inside the zipper pouch of the Giraffe
Notebook. Please have your child practice these words or letters everyday and then
return them to the zipper pouch so they don't get misplaced. We'll
add new words to the ring as they are introduced.
Show and Tell and Green Day will be on Thursday. Wear green and
bring something green for Show and Tell. Homework (a worksheet)
will be sent home on Thursday and will be due on Friday.
The permission slip for the
field trip to Kingsway Pumpkin Farm on
Friday, Oct. 19, is being sent
home today.. Please return it with the admission fee by Friday,
October 5. Admission price is $5.00 for children. Adults
who want to come along as chaperones should also send in their $2.00
admission fee at the same time. The children will need to bring a sack
lunch but drinks will be provided.
Last
Thursday, I sent home a
note regarding which letters and vocabulary words your child knew
(or didn't know). I can't stress enough how important it is for you to
help your child practice these at home. You will receive our first math
test with the newsletter today. Please make sure your child does not have
to play "catch up" in kindergarten!
We'd like to
