Show and Tell will be on Thursday this week. The children may either bring something beginning with letter Z or a zoo stuffed animal.

Don't forget that picture money is due on Wednesday! The children's photos were adorable!

The children have a new set of sentences to practice with you this week for homework (due Friday). Please remember to dictate the sentences to your child; don't let them copy the sentences the first time you say them. This week's sentences are:

You can go to bed.                    Do you like to mop?

Our Writing Test will be next week. Please have your child practice writing several stories at home this week and over the weekend! We are trying to have stories with at least 3 sentences. The story can be as simple as this example:

I have a truck. It is red. It can go fast.

Our Cleveland Zoo field trip is scheduled for May 22 and we will not return to Pfeiffer until 3:30 that day--an hour later than the usual dismissal time.  Please let me know if your family has a ZOO PASS because we will not have to pay for your child's admission. Parents are welcome to come with us to the zoo if you are willing to chaperone a few students. Parent admission is $10.00 and you can purchase your ticket at the zoo. Please let me know if you plan to come so we can make chaperone arrangements.

Snacks this week will be provided by Kevin, Lamont, Daryl, Jaelyn and Moira. Next week's snacks will be brought in by Courtney, Josie, Justin and Trystan.

Please practice number formation with your children. Many students reverse numbers and are careless when writing numbers. It's difficult to tell which is a 2 and which is a 5 when they are reversed so I may have to mark these as incorrect on math papers.

Keep stressing neatness in handwriting and number formation. Have your child erase and correct mistakes, please!

Special

Thanks

Thanks to the parents who were able to attend report card pick-up our last school week. I know this is a busy time of year so I appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to come.

We appreciated the extra snack from Dougie's family!
