And that's an eight.

Elf  Fingerplay

This little elf is chubby but strong.

This little elf points all day long.

This little elf is taller than the rest.

This little elf wears rings best.

This little elf is not very tall,

But this little elf is the cutest of all!

(Hold up each finger, starting with the thumb. Point fingers to cheeks on last line.)

Schedule for the week:

*Monday:  1. The children will bring home a gingerbread house with word cards inside of it. Continue to practice these.

                   2.  A note is attached about our Breakfast with Santa next Friday, Dec. 20.

*Wednesday:   Craft Workshop-students will rotate to make different holiday crafts with parents from 8:30 till about 10:00

*Thursday:  1. Show and Tell (bring something beginning with letter L)

                       2. A handwriting homework paper will come home and will be due on Friday

*Friday: 1. Homework paper and $2.00 contribution for Breakfast with Santa due

               2. Polar Express Day- The children may wear pajamas for the entire day--it's up to you whether they wear them to school or bring them to change into at school. We'll take a pretend train ride to the North Pole and complete other fun activities relating to the book, "The Polar Express", by Chris Van Allsburg. The sleepwear is optional, of course, but would add to the enjoyment of the book's activities.

Thank you  to the many parents who took the time to attend our Writing Workshop on Friday. Keep practicing writing sentences or stories at home a few times every week.

Congratulations to November's Good Citizens:  Kevin and Courtney!

Let's try to remember Show and Tell this week (beginning with letter L). Only  5 children brought show and tell this week and 7 children the week before.

Many children need school supplies, especially glue sticks, dry erase markers and bottles of glue. I've used up most of the ones I purchased on sale this summer so PLEASE check with your child to see if he/she needs supplies and buy them.

Grades will close shortly after we return to school so also practice counting to 50 by ones, fives and tens. Also, your child MUST know his/her address AND phone number to be on Honor Roll this grading period.  Work on letter sounds also.

If your child wears boots to school please send shoes for them to change into. Wet boots drip on the carpet we sit on everyday.

Thanks

Ms. Hatherill, Mrs. Queen and I really appreciate your contributions toward our Breakfast with Santa next Thursday!
