Week of August 29

We're exploring some of our math manipulatives this week and next. These cubes can be stacked and counted, sorted by color, and made into "trains". Lamont is making a "train" with unifix cubes.

Josie and Isabella are working together on their train.

Chester Raccoon left us a note in the back of "The Kissing Hand" book. We followed clues to tour the school building and meet other teachers and helpers.

We asked Miss Bonnie, our secretary, if she'd seen Chester Raccoon. She read the note he left for us.

Jaelyn followed his footprints into our classroom.

Isabella and Ricky are enjoying the heart cookie left in our classroom by Chester for a snack.

We could hardly wait to play with the classroom toys this week!

We used pattern blocks to make pictures.

We read the flashcards each day.

Daryl and Victoria are learning how to use their new glue bottles.

Josie and Kevin know they just need a tiny drop of glue in each corner.

Miss Napoli, our student teacher from The University of Akron, helped Trystan with his art project.

Moira followed directions to glue all the shapes on the paper.

She made Chester the Raccoon!

Dougie made circles in his shaving cream.

Daryl made a letter D.

Camryn is making a nose for his Clifford puppet.

Jazlyn finished her puppet and is ready to take it home.

Our Chester Raccoon art projects look great!

We all got to take home a giraffe to celebrate the first week of school. It was a great beginning to a wonderful school year!
